"I love it when you call me big poppa" Lol. The Notorious "Big One" theme has been trending for a while now and I was so excited when I finally got to do one. Cake Smash sessions are so fun because it's full circle. I get to see the little baby that I photographed just days after being born, come back when they are about to turn 1. It's makes me teary-eyed at how fast time flies and also how much they've grown.

Malik came to me for his newborn photos, 6 month milestone photos, and then his cake smash. When I told his mom all my theme options, she chose Notorious Big One. I couldn't have been more excited. It would have been fitting to play some Biggie during the session, but because I have to cater to my clients, Ms. Rachel was chosen to be in heavy rotation. Lol. It was all good, I can jam out to anything including nursery rhymes.

Mom had little Malik dressed super fly and even let him wear his chain that his grandpa bought him. He totally rocked his session. Of course we did some portraits in 1 outfit before we changed him and took photos of him eating his cake. He wasn't afraid to go all in with his cake either. He ate it so well that it made for the most epic photos. All me and mom could do was laugh and let him have at it. I'm always impressed when babies actually demolish their cake because I do have my fair share of babies that want nothing to do with their cake.

We got some super cute photos of little Malik and I was really happy to have been able to capture his first year of growth. I think photographing newborns and having them come back for their 1st birthday portraits are my favorite. Their personalities are the same as when they were babies. They just have more control over their movements at 1. Lol. Here's a peak and some of the photos we captured.
