Aubryn's Baseball 1st Birthday with 21 Moments Photography
Let's play ball!
Or in this case, let's play with baseballs and chase around a 1 year old who is crawling and sort-a-kinda walking. Haha. Aubryn celebrated his 1st birthday with a milestone session as the baseball field near my Sanford, FL studio. His mom chose that theme because he comes from a family of baseball players and wanted to introduce baseball to him. He definitely enjoyed being on the field, exploring all his surroundings.
First, we met at a local park which had a baseball field that we knew would be available. Living in Florida, means baseball season is pretty much year round so finding and empty field is not too common. But we got lucky, and made it to the field right before sunset. Baby Aubryn didn't hesitate to start crawling around and picking up the clay in his hands. He kept looking at us like, "whoa, what is this?" LOL. He did attempt to eat some and quickly realized it was his favorite. But it made for a great spontaneous photo op. He looked absolutely adorable in his little red and white baseball uniform with a matching red baseball hat.
Next, we moved from the field to a grassy area right next to it and set up some props. The wind wasn't in our favor, but we made it work. We let Aubryn play with some baseballs and hold a kid-sized bat for some of the pictures. He looked too cute. He was more of a fan of the clay, so he kept crawling back to it from the grassy area. Mom and I surely got our steps in chasing him back and forth. That's the adventure of cake smash sessions. The babies are discovering their independence and don't sit in 1 spot too long, so I have learned how to be ready at all times.
Finally, we ended our session letting him play with a balloon and he smiled and laughed so hard. It's the little things that capture the attention of little kiddos. They are such a joy to watch. We had a great time and the weather was amazing with a gentle breeze. I wish all Florida days would be like that. Aubryn surely had me singing, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, to grab his attention and he seemed to like it and hum it back to me. I hope to do more baseball themed cake smashes, in studio, or on a field, because it was such a cute theme that I really enjoyed photographing. Take a look at some cuteness from his photo session.
