What Every Parent Needs to Know
Preparing for a newborn photoshoot at my Sanford, FL, home studio is an exciting, emotional, and relaxing experience for new parents. As a newborn photographer, I want to help you create beautiful memories that you will cherish forever. Here's how I ensure a smooth, calming, stress-free session for both you and your baby.
Schedule Early: Newborn photos are best captured between 4-14 days old. This ensures your baby sleeps soundly, which helps pose them in the sweetest womb-like poses. It's best to schedule a session with me during the start of your 3rd trimester, to make sure I have availability. I also photograph newborns in the morning. I know, mornings can be a little rough after waking for feedings and diaper changes a few times at night, but in my experience, babies sleep much better during the first stretch of the morning than in the afternoon.
Soothing, Warm Environment: Newborns are quite sensitive to their surroundings, so I always keep my studio warm and toasty to help your little feel relaxed. I have a sound machine and play Disney lullabies to enhance the peaceful atmosphere which will help your baby drift into a sweet, deep sleep. I am known as the baby whisperer, so please don't be surprised if your baby is super chill with me.
Trust the Process: Your sweet little baby is actually very in tune with what's comforting and what isn't. I work based on what they "tell" me. Kind of like spidey-senses, but for babies. Ha! I take breaks as needed for diaper changes, feedings, and even cuddles, which is why as session can be almost 3 hours long. The session is all about capturing that little pout, itty-bitty toes, and tiny fingers. Trust me to guide you, handle your baby with care and safety, and give you the most priceless, timeless family heirlooms for you to enjoy for a lifetime.
