The Hot Springs
Florida is hot and this spring entering into summer has been the hottest we've experienced in a long time. But my brave clients wanted an outdoor maternity session in outskirts of Orlando, so I made it happen. We scheduled the session for 6PM to let the sun and heat diminish a bit, and we were pleasantly surprised with the shade, and minimal humidity at the park.
I knew that I had to work quickly with mama being 34 weeks pregnant. (she waited until the last minute). I always plan and complete an outdoor maternity session in 45mins to 1 hour because once a pregnant mama gets hot, she is not going to be happy. We started at 6PM and finished by 6:37PM! I didn't want mom sweating off her makeup. The park that we settled on had various scenery in one area, so all I had to do was have them turn around to capture different backgrounds instead of walking to so many parts of the park. Her husband was great, wiping her face, giving her water, and keeping her cool in between photos with an electric mini-fan. And their 4 year old daughter was very calm staying in one spot because she "didn't want her dress to get dirty." Lol
The park gave us that Mother Nature vibe that my client wanted for her Orlando maternity session and she was so in love with the photos. She said she never knows how to pose in pictures, but I know how to get the "good side" out of anyone and she was no different. Plus she already has such a pretty smile anyway, it was difficult at all. I really had so much fun photographing this sweet family and I'm excited to take photos of their newborn baby when she arrives!
